Yosemite National Park is easily recognizable from its towering granite monoliths that seem too beautiful to be sculpted by anyone other than the gods. Climbers have long revered the famous El Capitan and Half Dome rock faces, best taken in from the sweeping vista of the Yosemite Valley available from Tunnel View. The national park’s most iconic landscape is that of Yosemite Falls, where the 739m cascading waterfall pours over the cliff into a mystical cloud of white as it pounds against the rocks below. If you’re lucky, a rainbow may appear in the mist, and if you’re extra lucky, the full moon can sometimes produce enough light to bring forth a lunar rainbow.
In the heart of the park lies the rustic Yosemite Village, where you can take in the culture of the Ahwahneechee people, Yosemite’s earliest residents, at Yosemite Museum. Grab a bite to eat before exploring the Ansel Adams Gallery, known for its famous black and white landscapes.
Yosemite is flanked by the Sierra and Stanislaus National Forests, each providing mountain scenery and sparkling rivers with multiple sporting options. Surrounding the park, Mariposa County stretches out with many activities no matter the season, including ziplining, river rafting, wine tasting, and more, including plenty of natural swimming holes to take a dip when the sun rises high in the sky. Gold Rush towns are peppered throughout the area, including Jamestown where you can ride into a bygone era aboard a steam or diesel “movie star locomotive”.

Everything was wonderful. Everything went smoothly. The individual tours were wonderful and all the guides were exceptional. A lot of traveling-the flight was very good on Cathay Pacific would highly recommend their airline seats were comfortable and spaced well. Being on an airplane for 16 hours sucks in general, but other than being a little sore from being stuck in one place all was good.
