Overview
Take a trip to Pyramids of Giza on your Egypt Vacation
The Pyramids of Giza are some of history's most discussed and fascinating structures. They were built 5,000 years ago as tombs for the pharaohs of Egypt. The colossal effort required to build the giant structures in precise measurements and to perfect alignments have invited conspiracy theories about the involvement of aliens.
There are three pyramids in the Giza complex: the Great Pyramid built around 2,550 BC for King Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre, built by his son Khafre, and the Pyramid of Menkaure dedicated to Khafre's son. The Great Pyramid is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It originally stood at 481 ft (147 m) tall and decreased in height to 454 ft (138m) after its white limestone casing was removed. You can view the pyramids from the outside or go inside, where you will see the King's Chamber, Khufu's sarcophagus. You can ride up to the structures on a camel ride and enjoy a light and sound show that narrates a story about the pyramids along with laser light, music, and voiceover narration. There is an entrance fee to visit the pyramids. Mornings are less hot and crowded.

Egypt is modern and cosmopolitan, yet still rooted in a culture of hospitality. Whether sipping tea with locals or exploring sacred sites, you will find that human connections are as memorable as the monuments themselves
The ancient monuments carry an extraordinary historical significance and relevance. You feel it the moment you are there!
Be prepared for a modest society. Both men and women generally cover their shoulders and knees, and visitors should do the same out of respect.
November to April is the most pleasant weather-wise, while summer can be sweltering with many days over 45 degrees Celsius (about 113 degrees Fahrenheit).
For Egypt's biggest draw, the people have to be on top, but the culture and history are not far behind. It’s a destination where warm hospitality pairs with awe-inspiring history to create an experience like no other.
