Take a trip to The Alhambra on your Spain Vacation
The Alhambra, situated in Granada, Spain served as the palace and fortress of the Moorish rulers. Its name "Alhambra," meaning "the red" in Arabic, likely stems from the reddish hue of its outer walls built from rammed earth. This architectural marvel features a unique design characterized by quadrangular buildings surrounding a central courtyard. What's fascinating is that subsequent Emirs maintained this style, adding quadrangular rooms interconnected by smaller passages to create a paradise-like atmosphere.
Due to its popularity, the Alhambra attracts throngs of visitors daily, often leading to sold-out tickets weeks or even months in advance. To avoid disappointment, it's advisable to purchase tickets as early as possible.

If you are looking for the best time to visit, I would recommend Spring and early Fall. The weather wont be too hot and you will be avoiding the peak season where not only does the temperature rise, but there are lots of crowds.
Be wary that lunch and dinner are taken very late compared to North America! And don't expect to just pop into the shops around midday - most of them shut for a siesta break!
Most people do not know that most regions of Spain have their own language and traditions. This makes visiting Spain such a unique experience - everywhere you go is like visiting a completely new country
