I worked with Jaime Vargas-Hernandez to put a last minute trip to Peru for my clients, i did not have much knowledge of Peru but with the guidance of Jaime i was able to offer one of a lifetime trip to my clients. Once my client arrived they contacted me right away to inform how much they enjoying their first day with Local sight seeing tour on Lima and they looking forward to Machu Picchu, Jaime worked with to provide a flawless trip for my client and under their budget. Jaime was available to me through out my booking process and was able to offer me alternativities if something was not available . Jaime's destination knowledge is amazing and above all his service and customer service level is very much apricated . He has also tried me to help/assist me with other departments where i was not able to get answers . I would definitively recommend Jaime if you ever deal with Go away, if he cannot help you he will put you to the right person who can assist you the same way. Looking forward to working with Jaime again in future. Thank you for all your hard work, Best, Unnati Avenue Travel.

Custom Trip to Peru
We booked a fully custom trip for 2 in Peru. Our travel advisor was Amanda De Oliveira and she was exceptional. After weeks of back and forth and slight tweaks we had our perfect itinerary planned. Condor Travel in Peru, which was the onsite tour company was also exceptional. Every tour guide was absolutely amazing and this being the first time I did private tours I will never go back. We had some issues with the protests on the trains to get to Machu Picchu, but the GoWay and Condor teams were amazing in working to get us there the best they could. I would 100% recommend GoWay for a trip like this with lots of logistics, custom tours, and movements throughout a country.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE
I am a travel agent with more than 34 years of experience. I must admit I have never booked Patagonia. I was lucky enough to deal with Osvaldo Gonzalez. Ozzie was exceptional with his knowledge of Patagonia. It was a complicated itinerary since many of the lodges were sold out. He kept in contact with me and my client (who happened to be on a trip to Switzerland when booking this trip). He communicated with us both (even with the time change) and put an amazing itinerary together. He was in constant contact with his agents in Chile and it was incredibly challenging since it was a holiday. He consistently worked on this until the client was satisfied and once the itinerary came together client deposited the trip immediately. I hope I get to work with him again.

Trip to Peru
I connected with Goway Travel (my first time) to plan my recent visit to Peru for 10 days. Amanda DeOliveira, was my destination specialist and I can only call her "Amazing Amanda". Since my first call with her, she provided me regular guidance in planning the itinerary and choosing the activities. I realized her planning and understanding of my needs when I went on this adventure and thoroughly enjoyed it. The entire trip was well structured and I never felt rushed to enjoy every day during this trip. I had a couple of specific requirements and they were catered to. I will be remiss if I do not mention the local support at Condor Travel in Peru. Goway Travel made my experience extraordinary and I will connect with them for my future tours. They are a definite recommend for travellers who like to explore the world without any worry.

Osvaldo Gonzales was exceptional
Osvaldo Gonzales was exceptional. I am a travel agent and needed a last minute trip for clients to Peru. He went above and beyond. Stayed late and put an amazing itinerary together that needed no changes from clients. He listened and put together exactly what they wanted. It's rare that I as a veteran travel agent of 40 + years experience that I find someone so eager to work. Great Job!!!

This was the most memorable trip we’ve ever had. Our tour guides @ Rio and Salvador were extremely professional, always punctual and willing to cater to our unique tastes. We didn’t have to break a bank to enjoy being treated like royalty. Goway Travel is putting together our next trip to Portugal in December.

Review for Kajal Gadhia at Goway Travel
My name is Kathy, and I’m a Vacation Consultant with Expedia Cruises in Merrick, NY. I wanted to take a moment to recognize one of your outstanding representatives, Kajal Gadhia. Kajal was incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and patient throughout the entire planning process. My clients recently booked a 10-day trip to Lima, Peru, and thanks to Kajal’s expert guidance and thoughtful excursion planning, they had an absolutely wonderful experience. I personally had many questions along the way, and Kajal was always accommodating, responsive, and genuinely sweet. Her professionalism and kindness made the collaboration seamless and enjoyable. I would absolutely work with Kajal again and look forward to booking with Goway in the future!

Best Time To Visit

Peru’s peak travel season runs from June to August.

This is when sunny skies and dry conditions create the best environment for trekking and coincide with vibrant festivals like Inti Raymi in Cusco. It’s also the busiest time at Machu Picchu, so early booking is essential. Arranging your trip six to eight months ahead of your planned visit is ideal.

May and September bring the same pleasant weather but with fewer crowds, making them ideal for those who prefer a quieter pace and more flexibility in securing top accommodations.

Mild winters in the Andes also create perfect conditions for cultural exploration without the intense summer heat. Whether you’re here for mountain adventures, Amazon wildlife, or coastal culinary tours, timing your trip can make all the difference. For a month-by-month breakdown of weather, events, and experiences, explore the best time to visit Peru.

For a unique experience visit an indigenous village high in the Andes for a Pachamama ceremony. I was fortunate to participate in one and the warmth of the people and how simple they lived, really touched my heart.

May to October is the best time to visit as it is the dry season with sunny days, clear skies, ideal for trekking and enjoy the landscape. However like in all Latin countries, the weather is unpredictable, so be ready if any rain show up during a sunny day

Everyone should make sure they try a Pisco sour - It's Peru’s national cocktail—a smooth, citrusy, and slightly foamy drink made with pisco, a type of grape brandy. It’s both refreshing and strong, with a sweet-tart balance and a signature foamy top from egg white.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. U.S. citizens can visit Peru for tourism without a visa for stays of up to 90 days. A valid passport is required.

Peru is famous for mysterious Machu Picchu, its rich Inca heritage, vibrant Andean culture, world-class cuisine, and diverse landscapes ranging from the Amazon rainforest to the Andes mountains.

Peru offers a unique mix of history, culture, adventure, and natural beauty, with experiences ranging from luxury train journeys to high-altitude treks and coastal culinary tours.

For first-time visitors, 10 to 14 days is ideal to explore Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, and Machu Picchu at a comfortable pace. Longer trips can include Lake Titicaca, the Amazon, or Colca Canyon.

Yes, it is generally safe for women to travel to Peru, especially to popular tourist areas, but caution and vigilance should still be exercised due to risks of petty crime, sexual harassment, and potential for robbery. To enhance your safety, avoid walking alone at night, especially in deserted areas; use reputable taxi services or ride-sharing apps; and never leave your food or drinks unattended.

Where to stay in Peru depends on your interests, but the neighbourhoods of Miraflores and Barranco are among Lima’s best for culture and amenities, while Cusco is ideal for history and access to the Inca Trail. Northwest of Cusco, the Sacred Valley offers a more tranquil base near Machu Picchu; Arequipa is known for its colonial charm and safety.

You should plan a trip to Peru months in advance, especially for peak season (June to August). In particular, permits for the Inca Trail take about six months to a year to secure, while Machu Picchu tickets and other popular attractions need to be booked four to six months ahead. Aim to book flights and accommodations three to six months out during the busy period.
