Overview
Take a trip to Jasper National Park on your Canada Vacation
Jasper National Park is the largest park in the Canadian Rockies. It is a park for all seasons, teeming with natural wonders, from mountains, rivers, and waterfalls to canyons and glaciers. The park is home to elk, moose, mule, bighorn sheep, coyotes, black bears, 305 species of birds, including the golden eagle, gray jay, and white-tailed ptarmigan, and 16 species of fish.
You can ski, hike, bike, canoe, and kayak, among other activities. Popular activities include trekking Maligne Lake, the second-largest glacier-fed lake in the world, gliding up 7,500 ft (2,286 m) on the Jasper SkyTram for breathtaking views of mountain ranges and colourful lakes, rafting the Class II rapids of Athabasca River, and soaking in the Miette Hot Springs. The park has numerous hiking trails that you can explore. To avoid the crowds and view more wildlife, visit during dawn or by dusk during the weekdays when popular attractions tend to be quieter.
