Iguassu Falls are world-famous waterfalls located on the Iguazú River on the border of Brazil and Argentina. The falls are shared by two UNESCO World Heritage-listed national parks, Brazil’s Iguaçu National Park and Argentina’s Iguassu National Park, which can be added to a number of Goway’s Argentina tours.
Legend has it that the falls were created by a god called Mobi in a fit of rage. Mobi intended to marry a beautiful woman named Naipi who was in love with Tarobá, a mortal. Naipi and Taroba escaped together in a canoe angering Mobi who sliced the river, creating the waterfalls thus ensuring the young lovers would fall to their deaths.
Iguassu Falls are some of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. They are shared by three different countries, Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. It has the largest average annual flow of water, more than any other waterfall in the world. There are numerous islands along the 2.7 kilometre/1.7-mile edge which divide the falls into various separate waterfalls. It is hard to say just how many exist as the number fluctuates between 150-300, depending on water levels. One of the most incredible sights is Devil’s Throat where fourteen falls drop some 107 metres/350 feet with such force that there is always a 30-metre/100-foot cloud of spray above. You can take a train running along the Argentinean side to where the mist and the roar are the most spectacular. Also, you can walk to the “Devil’s Throat” and take a boat ride almost underneath the falling waters. The surrounding parks are equally stunning, hosting unique jungle ecosystems that house immense bird and animal life that are just waiting to be explored on an Argentina vacation. It is recommended to spend at least a day on each side of Iguassu, even though about three-quarters of the total length of the falls is on the Argentinean side. What do the experts say?
The best time to visit Argentina depends on the region you want to see, but Spring (September-November) and Autumn (March-May) are generally ideal for visiting Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and Iguazú Falls, offering pleasant weather and beautiful scenery. For Patagonia, the summer months (December-March) are best for hiking and accessible trails, though you can visit other times of year with appropriate clothing.
If you are lucky enough to visit during August, make sure you attend the iconic Buenos Aires Tango Festival, which fills the city with performances, lessons, and open-air parties celebrating the birthplace of Tango.
While football (soccer) is extremely popular, the official national sport is Pato, a game involving horseback riders trying to grab a duck or a similar ball.
A unique local experience is visiting El Ateneo Grand Splendid in Buenos Aires, one of the largest and most beautiful bookstores in the world. It’s set inside a former theatre.
Argentina’s climate varies widely: the north is subtropical, the Pampas are temperate, the Andes are cooler, and Patagonia is cold and windy. Travellers should pack accordingly for each region.

The accommodations, transfers, transportation, guides' input and visits' setup met the highest standards and expectations.Nadia & Cristian We recently completed a trip to Crete, Greece - our third trip with GoWay - and I have run out of superlatives to laud their efforts. This was a self drive trip, and as has been our experience with GoWay, we were permitted to customize the standard offered itinerary to suit our personal preferences. Brooke, our agent on this trip, went the extra mile to make all the adjustments we requested, including providing for an English-speaking guide at the Phaistos archeological site. The hotels which Brooke booked on our behalf were truly excellent, and - again, per our wish - just outside of the urban chaos of Heraklion, Rethymno and Chania, but close enough to readily access the cities' benefits. Each hotel was a beachside sanctuary, and we spent several serene, idyllic days never leaving the hotel, and yet there was plenty of time for more distant and adventurous sight seeing.

The guides during our Scotland trip were wonderful as well. Ian Short was the BEST! He was professional, knowledgeable, and made sure everything ran smoothly so we could simply enjoy the experience.
