Some of the many attractions when on a Croatia vacation package include the 16th Century Sponza Palace which contains the city archives, the 15th Century Rector’s Palace which contains the history department of the Museum of Dubrovnik, Roland’s Column, the Bell Tower, Big Onofrio’s Fountain, St. Saviour’s Church from the Renaissance period, the Franciscan Church and Monastery which contains a library with over 30, 000 volumes and Dubrovnik Cathedral with its impressive Treasury. Dubrovnik has the oldest arboretum in the world dating back to 1492 with its collection of exotic plants and its historic gardens. An enjoyable trip can be taken by cable car from the old town to a hill behind the city where one has amazing views of the surrounding area.
During the summer in July and August, the city has an excellent Summer Festival lasting 45 days and includes plays, concerts and games.
