Take a trip to Queen Elizabeth National Park on your Uganda Vacation
Located in western Uganda and spread over four districts is Queen Elizabeth National Park. The country’s most visited park on a Uganda safari, it occupies an estimated 1,978 square kilometres (764 square miles), extending from Lake George in the northeast to Lake Edward in the southwest.
In the late 1920s, two separate game reserves were established at Lake George and Lake Edward. These reserves were combined and a national park was designated in 1954, named in honour of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain who had visited Uganda in 1952. While many animals were killed during the Uganda-Tanzania war of the late 1970s, the park has been successful in recovering several species including hippopotamus, elephants, leopards and chimpanzees to add to the enjoyment of a Uganda safari.
Queen Elizabeth National Park is known for its wildlife and hosts over 95 mammal species and more than 500 types of birds. The area of the park that covers Rukungiri District is notable for the tree-climbing lions who exist there. The male lions sport black manes, a trait that is unique to the area. Along with big game viewing and incredible landscapes, the park also invites visitors to experience the fascinating cultural history of the region and there are many opportunities to meet and interact with local communities.

The staff at the lodges are all exceptional and really go out of their way to make your stay memorable. In one lodge, the wake up call included him singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" to me.
Gorilla trekking is such a unique experience - it can only be done in this part of the world. While the gorilla trekk is such a highlight, the surrounding areas are so beautiful it is worth considering spending more time in destination.

Our experience in Peru was very positive. Denise WatkinsI booked this trip to Adelaide with Goway, after using them before when we explored the 'big' sites of Australia. This time, we went to Adelaide to go to three of the top wine growing areas for wine tastings. We were a small group of 4 people. It was made better as the vendor used Small Batch Wine Tours for all of our excursions. They were fantastic making us the only travelers on these tours. Matthew, the owner, even adjusted our wineries on the last day to go to different place. This place totally marked off everything we were looking for in wine. Ended up buying a couple of bottles.
