Our trip to Asia was fantastic!
Our trip to Asia was fantastic! From the beginning of registration, working with Ameet Duggal, to the actual trip, the service Goway provided was outstanding! Ameet was great to work with. He was kind, professional and answered all my questions whenever they arose. Our guides in all four locations (Hong Kong, Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Siem Reap) were all exceptional. All were very well informed, spoke English very well, had a great sense of humor, were always on time, and paid attention to all the details so as to make our trip absolutely problem free and enjoyable. We were picked up at all locations at the airport, and returned there, in a punctual manner. The drivers were great, especially Bros in Siem Reap. All had lots of water for us because is was pretty hot everywhere we went. Food was wonderful and all the sites we visited were interesting and beautiful. I was especially impressed with how our guides knew how and when to navigate certain sites to avoid large crowds. They situated our visits so we would avoid the intense heat. All in all, I would definitely consider doing another independent tour with Goway. I would also recommend your services to anyone who wished to travel abroad, especially to Asia!

Vietnam & Cambodia beyond my expectations
I had an agent who organized my trip and I can’t say enough wonderful things about it! I went to Vietnam and was met by guides that were caring, knowledgeable and absolutely amazing! The flights and tours were seamlessly and way beyond my expectations! I encourage everyone to go to Vietnam during the Lunar New Year Festival. Cambodia was equally welcoming and amazing to visit. The guides treated me like a princess and filled my cultural cup! You cannot leave Cambodia without loving the people and culture! It touched my soul! 🇻🇳🇰🇭♥️👏🏻👏🏻

Oscar Chow is a top-notch employee
Oscar Chow is a top-notch employee. I have worked with about 5 GoWay specialists 1 of them was bad. 3 of them were good but Oscer is 10/10. He handles everything efficiently and quickly. NEVER is he frustrated with me or impatient on the phone or through email. He is very professional and very knowledgeable. If you have an Asain destination I would recommend him 1000%!!!! Idk how they determine if employees get raises but he gets my vote for sure!!

Vietnam/Cambodia Trip
We went on an 18-day trip to Vietnam & Cambodia. It was customized for two couples. Our travel consultant was Harpreet Litt. The hotels, tours, and guides were all first-rate. We enjoyed the trip, and also learned a great deal about the culture & history of these two countries. Thanks again to Harpreet & Goway!

Memorable Thailand!
From start to finish it was extraordinary! Maria put together the entire itinerary for three weeks visiting 4 cities in Thailand. From airport transfers, excursions, hotels to our guides, there was attention to detail like I have never seen. This was our bucket list trip and it truly was so memorable. We enjoyed every minute of each day. Thank you Goway Travel and especially Maria!

My Asia advisor
My Asia advisor, Steve, is probably the overall tour operator rep I've worked with in 20 years. I do both groups and FIT bookings with Goway, and have actually never had a single issue. They go out of their way on both the advisor and client side.

This is my third trip with Goway… Excellent option for using an expert suggestion
This is my third trip with Goway expertise. Mr Lawrence's assistance was excellent in organizing our trip to Thailand. It was a fantastic experience! My family and I returned home very satisfied with how everything was arranged. All schedules were met, and transfers were managed exceptionally well. We plan to return next year and will seek Goway's guidance and suggestions once again. Oscar Perez

Asia - Vietnam, South Korea and Japan
I wanted to share that my family had an incredible experience and could not stop raving about Vietnam and the exceptional services they received throughout their time there. They spoke especially highly of their host, Quan (spelling to be confirmed), who was truly an asset to their journey. He shared an impressive depth of history and local insight, which left a lasting impression on them. One of the standout highlights was the private Master Cooking Class we arranged. The Master Chef was a woman, assisted by her niece, and my clients were deeply impressed—not only by the experience itself, but by the opportunity it provided to show their daughters examples of strong, successful women from Vietnam. Returning to the orphanage from which they adopted their daughters was an especially meaningful and emotional experience for the entire family. At every stop, they were met by drivers and staff who were consistently friendly and helpful. I wanted to share this with you, as I was truly delighted to hear how much they enjoyed every aspect of the experience of this trip. Thank you so much for your help to plan this vacation and I look forward to working with you in the future.

My solo Bali experience
I experienced one of the best trip to Bali in Sept 2025. I celebrated my birthday with a solo trip. Not one minute I felt unsafe. My guide Jim and driver Matood were amazing, knowledgeable and kind. The Balinese way. Lawerence Ferrer my travel consultant worked with me all the way creating activities that flowed and not overwhelming. He was patient and checked with me consistently before my trip and even followed up afterwards. I will never travel again with a travel agent’s the experience is night and day. Travel Information about Laos

Best Time to Visit

Laos is at its most welcoming between November and March, when cool breezes, blue skies, and gentle sunlight make it easy to explore. This is the dry season, and it brings ideal conditions for wandering temple grounds, trekking through forested hills, or drifting along the Mekong without the weight of heavy humidity.

From April to May, the air grows thick and hot, with daytime temperatures climbing. Travellers who come at this time often favour early mornings or evenings for sightseeing, when the light is soft and the heat less pressing. The pace slows, but the landscapes remain striking.

Between June and October, the rains transform Laos. Paths can become muddy and travel less predictable, but the countryside bursts into colour. Rice paddies shimmer green, waterfalls surge, and the air feels washed clean. With fewer visitors and lower prices, this season appeals to those who value tranquillity and don’t mind a little spontaneity in their journey.

Choosing when to visit depends on what you seek. If you want trekking, cycling, or multi-day river journeys, the dry season is the safest choice. For lush scenery and a quieter, more reflective experience, the rainy months reveal another side of Laos’ beauty. Each season offers a different rhythm, inviting you to experience the country in your own way.

I love how laidback and relaxed Laos is compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. It's like the best of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand all rolled into one, and then sent back in time 20 to 30 years.

Most people don’t know that Laos is home to mysterious ancient caves and hidden temples that few travellers ever visit, tucked away in remote mountains and along quiet rivers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. US and Canadian citizens need a visa to enter Laos. You can obtain one online (eVisa) or on arrival at major airports and some land borders. Tourist visas are usually valid for 30 days. Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your stay.

Lao is the official language. In major towns like Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Pakse, English is spoken in hotels, restaurants, and by tour guides. In rural areas, English is limited, though French is sometimes spoken by older generations.

Luang Prabang, with its golden temples, morning alms-giving, and French colonial charm, is a highlight. Vientiane offers the Pha That Luang stupa and riverside promenades. The Plain of Jars near Phonsavan is a mysterious archaeological site. In the south, the 4,000 Islands region (Si Phan Don) along the Mekong is peaceful, while Bolaven Plateau is known for waterfalls and coffee plantations. Adventure seekers enjoy caving and tubing in Vang Vieng.

Laos is generally safe and welcoming. Petty theft can happen in crowded areas, so keep valuables close. Roads can be poor, and river travel should be with reputable operators. Be cautious when trekking off established paths, as unexploded ordnance from past conflicts still exists in remote areas.

Domestic flights save time between Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Pakse. Buses and minivans are common for intercity travel, though journeys can be slow due to winding mountain roads. Boats along the Mekong offer a scenic way to travel, especially the route between Thailand and Luang Prabang. Cycling is also popular in smaller towns.

Buddhism is central to daily life. Dress modestly when visiting temples—cover shoulders and knees, and remove shoes before entering. It’s polite to greet with a nop (palms pressed together with a slight bow). Avoid touching people on the head and don’t point your feet at Buddha images or monks. Public displays of affection are frowned upon.

Laos has a tropical climate—hot and humid most of the year. Light, breathable clothing is best, but bring modest attire for temples. A lightweight rain jacket or umbrella is useful during the monsoon season (May to October). Comfortable sandals or shoes are essential for walking, and sturdy footwear is needed for trekking. Don’t forget sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat for the strong sun.
