The Maldives is pleasant to visit most of the year, though things can get wet during the monsoon from June to August. Bring swimwear year-round, including a variety of options if you’re the photo-happy kind. A sarong or two is another good option for women, or even men, since it makes an excellent beach blanket or extra later if things get chilly. Finally, the sun is strong in the Maldives year-round. Pack sunblock with SPF 30+ to protect yourself from that equatorial sun! At the beach, on a boat, or in a water villa, it’ll be your skin's best friend.Â

One of the best times to visit the Maldives is from November to April when the weather is warm and dry. The average temperature is 86F/30C, with little rain and low humidity.Â
When is the Maldives’ peak tourist season?
January to April are the driest months in the Maldives, making this the peak season for resorts. Expect clear skies, a full range of activities, gorgeous photos, more tourists, and a price tag to match.
Which is the most affordable time to visit the Maldives?
From May to November, you can score lower room rates, free transfers, upgrades, and even free nights at many Maldives resorts. This is however the wet season, so be ready for sudden, often short downpours. Visiting in May, or from September to October will allow you to miss the wettest months of the season.Â
How long should I plan to visit the Maldives?
A week to ten days gives you enough time to explore some of the variety the Maldives has to offer. You’ll even have time for a little island hopping to see more of the country.

We started planning this trip 6 months prior to our travel date and had a lot of questions regarding this trip. Our Goway Travel Specialist, Karen Larrota, always answered our questions in a timely and complete manner. We traveled to Quito, Ecuador, the Galapagos, The Sacred Valley in Peru, Machu Picchu, and Cusco in Peru. Not only were the destinations and accommodations excellent, but every tour guide and driver were beyond excellent. The entire trip went smoothly every step of the way, which was amazing given the fact that there were numerous flights and hotels included in our package. We found out that the tour company that Goway used, Condor Travel, checked on us with our guide to make sure we were doing OK which we thought was very nice but also amusing as we are fairly fit older adults. Would also like to mention that we did a cruise thru the Galapagos on the Galapagos Legend which was arranged thru Go Galapagos - Kleintouurs. This portion of our tour was also excellent as were the wildlife guides and staff. We continue to discuss how wonderful this trip was with our family and friends and how wonderful this experience was.
