Overview
Take a trip to Malaga on your Spain Vacation
The dynamic coastal city of Malaga is the idyllic gateway to the Costa del Sol and Andalusia in southern Spain. It's a vibrant, cosmopolitan hub that offers a multifaceted Spanish experience with abundant sunshine and a high quality of life. You'll find wide boulevards lined with swaying palm trees and inviting beaches in the heart of Malaga. Its energetic nightlife is full of entertainment options, from bustling bars to tranquil beachfront lounges.
Malaga's history, steeped in Moorish heritage until the mid-15th century, is etched into its historic centre. The La Alcazaba fortress, dating back to 1065, now houses a captivating archaeological museum, providing a window into the city's rich past. The Calle Alameda Park boasts one of Europe's most celebrated botanical collections and is a testament to the city's enduring charm. Sundays in winter come alive with open-air concerts, infusing the park with melodies and merriment.
Malaga proudly embraces its modernity, with Calle Larios at the heart of commerce, akin to a local Bond Street or Fifth Avenue. It's an ideal starting point for exploring the city's charming streets, vibrant plazas, and the magnificent Renaissance cathedral. Malaga invites you to savour its exceptional seafood, explore captivating museums, and soak in the Mediterranean spirit under the sun.

If you are looking for the best time to visit, I would recommend Spring and early Fall. The weather wont be too hot and you will be avoiding the peak season where not only does the temperature rise, but there are lots of crowds.
Be wary that lunch and dinner are taken very late compared to North America! And don't expect to just pop into the shops around midday - most of them shut for a siesta break!
Most people do not know that most regions of Spain have their own language and traditions. This makes visiting Spain such a unique experience - everywhere you go is like visiting a completely new country
