The shorter route is 225 miles, however if you want to drive along famous Route 66 to visit Petrified Forest National Park, known for its fossils, such as fallen trees from the late Triassic Period, about 200 million years ago, bluff overlooks, hoodoos and petroglyphs, it will add another 89-90 miles.
