Overview
Take a trip to Wyoming on your United States Vacation
Wyoming is a Rocky Mountain State. The 10th largest state by area, it is also the least populous and least densely populated state in the contiguous United States. Wyoming's western half is covered mostly by the ranges and rangelands of the Rocky Mountains, while the eastern half of the state is a high-elevation prairie called the High Plains. It is drier and windier than the rest of the country, with greater temperature extremes. Cheyenne and Casper are its two largest cities. National parks include Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. National monuments include Devil's Tower National Monument and Fossil Butte National Monument.
