Take a trip to The White House on your United States Vacation
The White House, situated in Washington, D.C., is the official workplace and residence of the President of the United States. Since John Adams, it has been the home of every US president. For two centuries, the White House has been a powerful symbol of the Presidency, the US government, and its people. Its story began in 1790 when President George Washington approved an Act of Congress, selecting the location for the federal government on the Potomac River.
To visit the White House, you need to request a tour through a Member of Congress and their Congressional Tour Coordinator. You can submit your requests up to three months in advance, but make sure it's at least 21 days before your desired tour date.
