Overview
Take a trip to Lautoka on your Fiji Vacation
The vibrant city of Lautoka on the western shores of Fiji's main island, Viti Levu, is sure to captivate you with its lively markets, colonial architecture, and warm hospitality. Stroll through the bustling streets and discover the Sugar City's heart, where the market showcases an array of delicious tropical fruits, spices, and local crafts. The distinctive Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple, an architectural gem adorned with colourful Dravidian sculptures, dominates the city's skyline. Lautoka's charm extends to the tranquil Koroyanitu National Heritage Park, where lush landscapes and hiking trails reveal breathtaking views of the surrounding Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands. Immerse yourself in Fijian culture at Viseisei Village, believed to be the country's oldest settlement, and savour the essence of this Pacific paradise in Lautoka's welcoming embrace.

For first-time visitors, I suggest splitting their stay to experience a few nights at a resort along the Coral Coast, where they could experience a visit to a local village, then end their trip at one of the islands in the Mamanucas to experience some different beaches and activities. For returning visitors, I recommend exploring a different group of islands, such as heading to one of the Northern Islands, which is a short flight from Nadi.
