Upon arrival to Rio de Janeiro, please make your way through customs and collect your baggage. Proceed to the arrivals section of the airport, where you will find a guide holding a sign with your name on it. This representative will take you to an awaiting vehicle and driver, and you will soon be en route to your hotel. After reaching your hotel, you will be assisted with check-in and will have the remainder of the day at leisure. Consider spending a bit of time on the beach but be sure to get plenty of rest as the days ahead will be action-packed!

After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel (at approximately 8am) to set out on a shared boating experience through Guanabara Bay. This isn't just a boat trip; it's a tapestry of stories woven into the very fabric of Rio's landscape. Your journey becomes a vibrant narrative, with each landmark unveiled like a chapter in the city's history. From the echoes of discovery at historical forts to the graceful arch of the Rio-Niteroi Bridge, a marvel of modern engineering, every sight whispers tales of a city forever developing. And for nature lovers, Guanabara Bay's verdant islands and bustling marine life paint a stunning backdrop to your maritime adventure. This cruise isn't just for history buffs or boat enthusiasts; it's for anyone who wants to feel the pulse of Rio from a unique perspective. It's a chance to connect with the soul of the Marvelous, soak in its breathtaking beauty, and create memories that will shimmer long after your journey ends. So, raise the anchor on an unforgettable Rio experience and let Guanabara Bay paint your adventure with vibrant stories and dazzling panoramas! Following your boating tour, you will return to your hotel for some time to freshen up, and in the evening, you will be en route to the Samba Parade, taking place at the iconic Sambadrome. Once you have arrived, you will be escorted to your VIP Box, where you and fellow guests will enjoy an open bar, antipasto, dinner, finger foods and dessert at The Gourmet. Taking place from roughly 9pm to 5am, there will be plenty of time to soak in the sights and sounds. After a night of celebrations, you will join a shared transfer back to your hotel, which returns in the early morning hours (between 2am and 5am).

Following breakfast, meet your English-speaking guide and driver in the hotel lobby, then set out to enjoy the most famous monument of Rio, the Corcovado Mountain with its statue of Christ the Redeemer; a must-see for visitors to the city. It is located in the Tijuca Rainforest National Park (the largest urban park in the world) and is known by the locals as the "lung of the city". Settle in for a traditional Brazilian premium barbecue at Assador Rio's Restaurant. Churrasco is a traditional southern Brazilian (and Argentinean) way of preparing meats. This is the opportunity to taste an infinite variety of meats, various side dishes and salads served continuously at your table. Later in the afternoon, travel by cable car to the top of Sugarloaf Mountain, where you toast the sunset with the incredible views. Guests will board with priority on the cable car (golden ticket), for a two-stage trip that will take them up to the Sugarloaf: the first stage, Morro da Urca and then the second stage takes one up to the Sugarloaf (395 meters), above sea level Enjoy the extraordinarily beautiful view from the Sugarloaf, undoubtedly one of the most famous monuments in the world.

October 9, 2026, was our 50th wedding anniversary. To celebrate, I wanted to take my bride to Europe for 50 days. Also, other than the flight over, I wanted to make the trip by train. We have used Goway several times to plan simple & more complicated trips. The last 2 trips we worked with Brooke Theron who is extremely customer focused. She listens well & is alway flexible to look at alternatives. We will continue using this representative & Goway. Our only criticism is that they do not break down the various costs of a trip which makes tipping very awkward. It can also create a sense of " mistrust" when all the costs are not transparent.
