Take a trip to Christ the Redeemer on your Brazil Vacation
Christ the Redeemer is an iconic Brazilian landmark and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Built to commemorate Brazil's independence from Portugal, the statue is a symbol of Brazilians' faith and hope in the face of challenges. Construction of the statue began in 1922 and was completed in 1931. It is on the summit of Corcovado Mountain, a peak in Tijuca National Park in central Rio de Janeiro.
There are different ways to get to the top for a view of the statue and the stunning cityscape below. The cheapest way is to hike up from Parque Lage at the base of the mountain, which will take you 2-3 hours. You can take the cogwheel train, a 20-minute scenic ride through the national park up to Corcovado Mountain. Shuttle vans or Uber/taxi are other options. A helicopter ride, an expensive option, offers an aerial perspective of the statue and the city below. The best time to visit Christ the Redeemer is early morning or late afternoon as you can beat the heat and crowds.

Brazil is great to visit all year round, but December to March is ideal for experiencing the vibrant summer energy and major events like Carnaval. For those who want to search for wildlife in the Amazon & Pantanal, I would suggest April to October
Travellers must plan for diverse weather as the country ranges from tropical in the north (Amazon rainforest -with high humidity and rain) to temperate in the south, with hot, dry inland areas and a semi-arid Northeast region experiencing less rain.

Everything was wonderful. Everything went smoothly. The individual tours were wonderful and all the guides were exceptional. A lot of traveling-the flight was very good on Cathay Pacific would highly recommend their airline seats were comfortable and spaced well. Being on an airplane for 16 hours sucks in general, but other than being a little sore from being stuck in one place all was good.
