Argentina beckons with its diverse landscapes, vibrant culture, and a rich tapestry of experiences waiting to be unraveled. Whether you're wandering the wide boulevards of Buenos Aires or hiking the breathtaking trails of Patagonia, the must-see things in Argentina promise an unforgettable journey.

Bustling Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires, often called the "Paris of South America," enchants visitors with its European charm and Latin flair. Start your exploration in the Recoleta neighbourhood, where the famous Recoleta Cemetery is both a historical site and an architectural wonder. Stroll down Avenida 9 de Julio, said to be the widest avenue in the world, and admire the iconic Obelisk.

For a dose of art and culture, the Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires (MALBA) displays a stunning collection of modern and contemporary art from across Latin America. Evenings in the city are perfect for experiencing the passionate rhythms of tango, a dance born in the city's vibrant neighbourhoods. Authentic tango shows present an opportunity to dive deep into the soul of Argentine culture.

The Majestic Andes

As you drift away from the urban allure of Buenos Aires, the Andes Mountains beckon. Travelers often embark on some of the best Argentina tours to experience the majesty of these mountains. The region of Mendoza, nestled at the foothills of the Andes, is famous not only for its stunning vistas but for being Argentina's wine capital. Visits to the vineyards offer tastings of the country's renowned Malbec, along with insights into the winemaking process.

Further south, the stunning glacier fields of Patagonia provide endless adventures. The Perito Moreno Glacier, with its awe-inspiring blue ice, is a must-see. Watching chunks of ice break off and crash into the water is a spectacle that underscores nature's raw power.

The Mystique of the Pampas

Experience the heartland of Argentine tradition on the sprawling Pampas, the flat, fertile plains that stretch across the country. This is Gaucho country, and exploring the lifestyle of these rugged horsemen is essential to understanding Argentina's cultural roots. Several Argentina vacation packages offer a stay at an estancia (ranch), where you can learn about cattle ranching, enjoy traditional BBQs, and even try your hand at horseback riding.

The Enchantment of Iguazu Falls

Named one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature, Iguazu Falls straddles the border with Brazil and is a spectacle of thunderous water and lush rainforest. A visit to this natural wonder transports you into a world of biodiversity, where monkeys and colourful butterflies create a vibrant backdrop to the cascading falls.

For a truly immersive experience, take a boat tour to the base of the falls, feeling the spray on your face as nature's power envelops you. The panoramic views from various points, particularly the Devil's Throat, are breathtaking and not to be missed on any travel itinerary.

Cultural Treasures in Salta

Salta, a province in the northwest, is rich in colonial architecture and indigenous history. The city of Salta, known for its well-preserved historical buildings, offers a glimpse into Argentina's past. The vibrant Plaza 9 de Julio, with its cafes and craft shops, is perfect for absorbing the local atmosphere.

Beyond the city, the region's dramatic landscapes offer countless adventures, from exploring colourful mountain ranges like the Quebrada de Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage site, to sampling traditional Andean dishes.

In Argentina, every region narrates its own story, inviting you to become part of its vibrant tapestry of life. With each step, you uncover a part of the country's soul, enriched by its people, passions, and the natural beauty that stretches across its vast lands. Embark on one of the best Argentina tours, choose from a myriad of Argentina vacation packages, and experience this South American gem that continually enchants and inspires.

The best time to visit Argentina depends on the region you want to see, but Spring (September-November) and Autumn (March-May) are generally ideal for visiting Buenos Aires, Mendoza, and Iguazú Falls, offering pleasant weather and beautiful scenery. For Patagonia, the summer months (December-March) are best for hiking and accessible trails, though you can visit other times of year with appropriate clothing.

Our 2-week trip to Normandy, Switzerland and Italy after we disembarked from the Queen Mary 2 in Southampton in mid-May was superb. Michael Keon did an amazing job of putting together highlights for us to see and visit with the short time we had. All the train reservations, private and small group tours and transportations were very well coordinated, on time, and usually exceeded our expectations. Drivers were courteous and knowledgeable. Mike did a wonderful job getting everything coordinated, in spite of our almost “last minute” booking. I booked a month-long trip through GOWAY back in 1989 for Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, and they were superb then. So I tried them again, and found the entire organization to be even better. Mike was quick to respond to any questions that came up regarding booksings and times, regardless of the 6-hour time difference. Just superb! Although we had a nasty experience in Milan, GOWAY was very responsive and saw to our requests and our needs. Again, Michael Keon is the person who coordinated our travel. I will ask for Mike when I travel again with GOWAY. I recommend GOWAY highly. PJ Wheeler

Goway helped plan our two week trip to Peru and they (Virginia in particular) did a great job. The on-site logistics with Condor Travel went very smoothly, and the trip exceeded our expectations overall. They proactively suggested changes to our initial itinerary which were welcomed. I would recommend them and would work with them again in the future.Kate O'Neill

I recently went on an African Safari with my brother-in-law and sister and another couple who I knew. The entire experience was absolutely unbelievable. The complete details were flawlessly coordinated from the transfers to the breathtaking lodges. Our guides Peter showed us Kenya and Maulid Tanzania were very knowledgeable and very sharp eyes for finding the animals. We were able to see the animals up close, learn a lot about the people, birds , vegetation etc. We had several sundowners in the bush really added to a magical experience with beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend Goway to all my friends, they will not be disappointed. Thank you to Bijal for the excellent African Safari that you put together for us. You were wonderful.Nancy Hay
