Overview

Take a trip to Tabuk on your Saudi Arabia vacation.

The region of Tabuk stretches along the Egyptian and Jordanian borders in the northwest. Known for its red mountains, rocky deserts, and moderate climate along the waters of the Red Sea, Tabuk has been a key settlement for over 5,000 years. During World War I, its waystations along the Hejaz Railway were central to the Arab Revolt. Respite being modestly populated in the past, the region continues to grow, mostly in the capital city of Tabuk. Nowadays, the region is perhaps best known as the site of the futuristic development of Neom, which is currently under construction and expected to be completed by 2039.

I love learning about Nicaragua's culture and experiencing its Spanish influence in some cities. I was only there for five days, but I'll never forget how delicious the food was and how welcoming and extremely polite the people were.

Festival de Los Farolitos is an annual nighttime festival held every September in the town of Ataco, where the streets, houses, and plazas are illuminated with thousands of handmade lanterns (farolitos). Families craft them using colored paper, wood, calabash gourds, or jars, each with a candle inside. Although it's tied to the eve of the Virgin Mary’s birthday, it has evolved into a cultural celebration of community, light, creativity, and town pride.
