The non-smoking hotel is situated right in the centre of Tromso, nearly 5 minutes' walk from such cultural attractions as Tromso Public library and City Archives. Some of the 76 spacious rooms are equipped with individual climate control and central heating, as well as entertainment amenities such as free wireless internet and a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Guests can also use a sauna and a separate toilet, along with such amenities as hairdryers and bath sheets. Aside from that, wonderful views of the sea are featured. Breakfast at hotel. 10am - Reindeer Feeding and Sami Culture (4.5 hours) Join Sami guides for an unforgettable reindeer experience. The reindeer and the Sami have been living and working on this land for centuries and they have only recently invited guests to be part of their daily life. After a 30-minute drive from the city centre, you will visit their camp and have a chance to feed the herd of around 200 reindeer who will swarm all around and some will even eat from your hands. You will then be invited inside a gamme (a traditional Sami hut) where you will be served hot drinks and a traditional Sami meal, which will be cooked over the fire. After lunch, you will be invited into a lavvu (Sami herdsmen's tent) and gather round the fire to listen to stories about Sami culture and how it is to be a reindeer herder. The Sami guide will also perform a joik (traditional Sami chant) for the guests. 18:15 - Aurora Safari Camps with snack (5-7 hours) A private and safe Aurora Safari Camp giving a high hit rate for seeing the Northern Lights. Based on vast experience, the latest weather forecast, wind direction and the hosts at the Aurora Safari Camps, choose the Aurora Safari Camp with the best chances of clear sky and, therefore, of experiencing the Northern Lights. And if so, finish your meal, hot drinks and "lefse" (a local sweet snack) before leaving to look for clear skies somewhere else. In these circumstances, you will stay along the roads searching for a clear sky. The focus on this trip is always to show you the Northern Lights! A locally made hot soup (vegetarian option on request when booking) at the Aurora Safari Camp is offered. Overnight at Clarion Hotel or similar in Tromso.

Breakfast at hotel. 9am - Dog Sledding Daytime (7 Hours) Daily departures via scenic fjord and mountain landscape every morning throughout the winter season. The daytime adventures offer wonderful views in the wilderness. Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will be provided with warm winter clothing and begin the dog sledding with thorough safety instructions and a practical demonstration. You will get the chance to switch places midway during the 10-12 km dog sledding trail. Depending on snow conditions, you will spend up to 1 hour 30 minutes to complete it. After the tour, you will be served a hot meal in a traditional Northern Norwegian setting around the open fire in a reindeer herder's tent. Overnight at Clarion Hotel or similar in Tromso.

We recently completed a trip to Crete, Greece - our third trip with GoWay - and I have run out of superlatives to laud their efforts. This was a self drive trip, and as has been our experience with GoWay, we were permitted to customize the standard offered itinerary to suit our personal preferences. Brooke, our agent on this trip, went the extra mile to make all the adjustments we requested, including providing for an English-speaking guide at the Phaistos archeological site. The hotels which Brooke booked on our behalf were truly excellent, and - again, per our wish - just outside of the urban chaos of Heraklion, Rethymno and Chania, but close enough to readily access the cities' benefits. Each hotel was a beachside sanctuary, and we spent several serene, idyllic days never leaving the hotel, and yet there was plenty of time for more distant and adventurous sight seeing. Overall, the hotel and tours were amazing. We had issues with communicating with the driver. At times I was asked where, I was gone. The local company handled the situation and there were minor issues after. I would recommend a local English-speaking guide every day. My clients loved the trip.
