Riga - The Heartbeat of Latvia

Begin your Latvian adventure in Riga, the capital city, where history meets modernity. This lively city is a perfect fusion of cultural richness and contemporary charm. Stroll through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where medieval buildings stand as a testament to times gone by. Don't miss the iconic St. Peter's Church, offering panoramic views of the cityscape from its spire.

For those seeking more cultural immersion, the Latvian Ethnographic Open-Air Museum offers a glimpse into the past with its collection of traditional rural buildings. Moreover, art enthusiasts will delight in exploring the Art Nouveau architecture, an integral part of the city's architectural heritage, making Riga one of the best places to visit in Latvia.

Jūrmala - A Beachside Retreat

Just a short drive from Riga, you'll find Jūrmala, a seaside town known for its idyllic beaches and vibrant atmosphere. With white sandy shores stretching over 33 kilometers, it’s the perfect escape for relaxation and rejuvenation. Take a leisurely walk along the beach or indulge in one of the many wellness spas that dot the area, making your visit feel like a true vacation.

Jūrmala is renowned for its wooden summer houses, a peek into Latvia's architectural soul, and the perfect backdrop for memorable photos. It's no wonder that Jūrmala features prominently in Latvia vacation packages.

Gauja National Park - Nature's Canvas

Adventure seekers and nature lovers should venture to Gauja National Park, Latvia's largest national park. Here, the natural beauty is enchanting, with centuries-old forests, serene rivers, and towering cliffs offering a myriad of outdoor activities. Whether you’re hiking through the lush trails or kayaking along the Gauja River, the park provides a refreshing escape into nature.

The park also boasts historical gems like the medieval Turaida Castle, a red-brick fortress perched on a hilltop overlooking the lush landscapes. Explore the castle's museum to learn about Latvia's history and the legends that still linger within its walls.

Sigulda - The Switzerland of Latvia

Within Gauja National Park lies Sigulda, affectionately known as the Switzerland of Latvia. This picturesque town offers a blend of nature and adventure, alongside cultural experiences. Experience the thrill of a cable car ride across the Gauja Valley or try bobsledding at the Sigulda Bobsleigh Track, making for an adrenaline-filled day.

Additionally, the town is home to the stunning Gutman’s Cave, the largest cave in the Baltics, adorned with inscriptions dating back centuries, making it not only a natural wonder but also a historical archive.

Kuldīga - The Historical Haven

A visit to Latvia wouldn’t be complete without exploring Kuldīga, a charming town with a touch of nostalgia. Known for its well-preserved historical centre, Kuldīga transports you back in time with its narrow streets, old wooden buildings, and the gentle rush of Ventas Rumba, Europe's widest waterfall.

Stroll through the picturesque town centre to discover unique artisan shops and local eateries, offering a taste of Latvian cuisine that will delight your palate.

Latvia, with its captivating blend of historic allure and natural splendour, invites travelers to uncover its secrets. Whether you're drawn to the bustling streets of Riga or the serene landscapes of Gauja, this Baltic nation promises a memorable journey immersed in culture and adventure. You should try a Zen meditation session. Imagine slipping into a silk kimono for the day—carefully tied by an expert dresser, every fold precise, every colour chosen to suit the season. It’s a ritual that feels as personal as it is timeless.

What do I love about Japan? In a word - EVERYTHING. The incredible contrast that Japan offers - new/innovative vs old/traditional, the warm and welcoming people, the incredible rich culture, the culinary wonders awaiting around every corner, the cleanliness, efficiency and safety. It's one of the best places to visit in Asia in my opinion.

I love how laidback and relaxed Laos is compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. It's like the best of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand all rolled into one, and then sent back in time 20 to 30 years.

We recently completed a custom Vietnam tour organized by Goway, and it was everything we asked for and more. We would definitely choose Goway again. The true highlights of our trip, however, were our two guides: Vu Dang and Thien. They truly made our experience unforgettable. Both were incredibly knowledgeable, thoughtful, and kind. Their pride in their Vietnamese heritage shone through in every conversation, making our learning experience both deep and engaging. We learned so much in such a short time, and it was always fascinating. I would highly recommend these two guides to anyone visiting Vietnam!Laura Derbyshire

Everything was expertly planned, from the drivers to the hotels to the tours to the flights. We particularly enjoyed Hobart and the animal sanctuary, Adelaide and the trip to Kangaroo Island, Melbourne and the evening tour with dinner and drinks, and Sydney with the private boat cruise of the Harbour. We will definitely use Goway again.SARA Wiebe

There were 4 travelers on this trip. All of us were in our late 70's. We started planning this trip 6 months prior to our travel date and had a lot of questions regarding this trip. Our Goway Travel Specialist, Karen Larrota, always answered our questions in a timely and complete manner. We traveled to Quito, Ecuador, the Galapagos, The Sacred Valley in Peru, Machu Picchu, and Cusco in Peru. Not only were the destinations and accommodations excellent, but every tour guide and driver were beyond excellent. The entire trip went smoothly every step of the way, which was amazing given the fact that there were numerous flights and hotels included in our package. We found out that the tour company that Goway used, Condor Travel, checked on us with our guide to make sure we were doing OK which we thought was very nice but also amusing as we are fairly fit older adults. Would also like to mention that we did a cruise thru the Galapagos on the Galapagos Legend which was arranged thru Go Galapagos - Kleintouurs. This portion of our tour was also excellent as were the wildlife guides and staff. We continue to discuss how wonderful this trip was with our family and friends and how wonderful this experience was. Would definately use Goway for our travel needs in the future.Dianne

After spending some time with our agent, we felt that she understood exactly what we had in mind as far as the level of service, etc, we were hoping for. The trip exceeded our expectations. Lori kept us busy(not too busy!) and we had many, many very exciting experiences. Bruce Belshaw

Aylin is an exceptionally proficient advisor. Coordinating my clients simultaneously often feels like herding cats, but she has remained patient and accommodating through every modification and delay. Goway continues to be my go-to for complex itineraries, and they never disappoint.Nick Cron, ACC

My daughter and I had a wonderful 2 weeks in New Zealand! The country is so beautiful and the people so friendly. Our destination specialist did a great job with planning and organizing the itinerary, choosing our hotels, and organizing transportation. The hotels were absolutely beautiful and we had great views. We felt right at home and found all of the staff to be friendly and accommodating. There were no issues with our itinerary and our excursions we were always on the list. Our transportation was always ready and waiting for us. We want to thank Goway Travel for their hard work and patience with us in planning this trip. Any changes that needed to be made were communicated timely. We also want to thank you for the beautiful weather during the entire 2 weeks it was perfect every day 😀. It was a memorable trip that we will never forget and we will think of Goway when we plan our next adventure. Because it was not just a vacation; it was an adventure!Connie Wenhardt

Brigitta Fuller is Amazing! She was my group coordinator. She understood the assignment and all the nuances I was trying to achieve. The itinerary she curated was fantastic. If you want someone who truly cares about her group and what they are trying to achieve. I will always reach out to Brigitta first for Europe groups. Kathryn Walker
