Overview
Take a trip to Nuuk on your Greenland Vacation
Nuuk is the capital and largest city in the autonomous Danish territory of Greenland. While its population is small compared to other capital cities worldwide (just under 20,000 people), it’s not lacking for infrastructure, with surprisingly robust shopping, restaurant, and cultural scenes. Colourful homes line the deep blue waters of the harbour; historic church spires pierce the clear northern air. A new international airport connects the city to international gateways as well as settlements across Greenland. Nuuk is also a port for northern cruises through Greenland and other parts of the Atlantic.
Located only 241 km (150 mi) south of the Arctic Circle, Nuuk is surrounded by gorgeous northern landscapes. It’s close to and named after Nuuk Fjord, the world’s second-largest fjord system. It’s also only a 10-minute drive from snow-capped mountains. Nuuk is something of a northern outpost town and the starting point for most adventures through Greenland.
Nuuk is gorgeous, especially in the height of summer when the Midnight Sun bathes the surrounding fjord and coastline in golden light for long hours every day. During this time of year, you can spend long days hiking the surrounding fjords before retiring to local wine bars and cafes to bond with the locals, who are always curious about the stories of travellers who make it up to Nuuk.
Founded by Danish missionaries in 1728 on the site of an existing Inuit settlement, Nuuk struggled to establish itself throughout the 18th and 19th centuries. However, midway through the 20th century in the wake of World War II, it gained increased self-governance from a distant Denmark, achieving Home Rule in 1979 and further governance with the Self-Government Act in the early 21st century.
Recent decades have seen Nuuk build its local infrastructure to shore up the burgeoning tourism industry and grow the economy. The Colonial Harbour is ground zero for historical sightseeing in Nuuk, as it provides insight into the city’s past with a variety of museums and historic homes. Visit the Greenland National Museum and Archives for a more comprehensive history of the nation. You can also tour the Nuuk Art Museum to learn about the history of Greenlandic art and see works by some of the most celebrated artists in the far north.

You should try a Zen meditation session. Imagine slipping into a silk kimono for the day—carefully tied by an expert dresser, every fold precise, every colour chosen to suit the season. It’s a ritual that feels as personal as it is timeless.
What do I love about Japan? In a word - EVERYTHING. The incredible contrast that Japan offers - new/innovative vs old/traditional, the warm and welcoming people, the incredible rich culture, the culinary wonders awaiting around every corner, the cleanliness, efficiency and safety. It's one of the best places to visit in Asia in my opinion.
Pub Street in Siem Reap, Cambodia, is a local favourite with very inexpensive drinks. It's also a great place to try the local delicacy, BBQ frog.
I love how laidback and relaxed Laos is compared to other countries in Southeast Asia. It's like the best of Vietnam, Cambodia, and Thailand all rolled into one, and then sent back in time 20 to 30 years.
The Festes Majors are summer festivals held in the villages of Andorra. Each festival is unique to the village, with its own distinct style.

ExcellentBased on 5,233 ReviewsWorking with Isabella on a families trip to Ireland! The itinerary was 2 weeks, self drive with many excursions and a family wedding in the middle of it all! She was amazing from start to finish! She answered every question my clients had! She gave the best recommendations! So many details and planning went into this amazing trip! If i could give 10 stars I would! She would call me to make sure everything looked great! Thank you Isabella at Goway! You are the BEST and made this so easy for everyone! ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Christine AmlingI just returned from escorting 34 people to China with four stops. We had hotels, local guides and extensive daily sightseeing. We had flights and we had high speed rail. There were numerous components that could have gone wrong but did not. I would like to highly recommend local guide Yoyo in Shanghai as well as Kevin in Xian. Two of the best guides I have ever had anywhere in the world. Suzette Castro and her team at the Goway Group Department did an excellent job helping me put this together. I was demanding, they were totally cooperative. It went well. I will be back. Great time, great experience and Katie was a huge part in making it happen...Thank you for an amazing time Katie/GoWay Travel..RSE- Development CorpI was looking at a month holiday in New Zealand and Australia and Natasa Jaric who is located in the Toronto area helped to make it happened by combining 2 already designed holidays in Oceania. From the beginning to the end, Natasa was "hands on" by explaining and providing everything I needed for our trip. During our trip, there were few bumps on the road that had nothing to do with Goway Travel as it was the airline company that cancelled our scheduled flight and created chaos. And the other problems (they were light) was because of the way hotels described their rooms. It should definitely be better worded! Db to me means double bed ... what does it mean to you? ;-) Anyhow, we ended up having two beds but with some arguments at one hotel only. The others accommodated us at no extra cost. I should also add that NZ and Aus. know how to treat tourists. I was particularly impressed with the transfers services offered by different companies both in NZ and Aus. Wow! No waiting at the airports, hotels or terminals. They were there ready to pick us up and drive us where ever we needed to be! Well done!!! It's the kind of service that I will have a hard time not to use again as it comes with a $ sign but definitely worth spending it! :-). I received a very good response from the "Help office" when the flight was cancelled and other inquiries I had made. Very good service once again. I live quite a few experiences during that month and all thanks need to go to Natasa and her team. So Natasa: Thank you very very much for a very well organized travel! Tony and Rose Ferreira sharkman TonyThis was my first time planning a tour wth Goway Travel. I am truly delighted with the professionalism and personal relationship I had with the Goway Travel consultant Christine. She gave attention to every details I requested to curate my tour to Hong Kong and Bali. She addressed all my needs, answered thoroughly my questions and concerns. She is a touch of class in every respect. I will definitely recommend Goway Travel group. Excellent Hotels. Perfect guides in both countries. LE Asia TourIngrid did a phenomenal job creating a 22 day trip beginning in with 3 days in Turkey, that included a Turkish Bath and a private tour of the mosques, we then took a 10 day cruise through the Mediterranean, Greece, Croatia, plus a couple of other stops. We got off the cruise in Ravenna Italy our transportation was spot on picking us up (I would have to stay all of our transportation was impressive, always there, on time, very helpful) we traveled from Ravenna to Venice where we stayed for two nights. Venice is the only place we had a hiccup, we weren't sure if someone was meeting us at our Hotel to take us to the water taxi to get to the train station, we figured it out, made the train and all was good. Traveled to Florence, had the best time there with one of our most favorite excusions, stayed in Florence for two nights and then completed our trip with three nights in Rome. Rome is BUSY, I was not prepared for that but should of expected it. This is our second big trip planning through Goway Travel, I can not recommend enough, they are so detailed and take care of everything you need and everything you didn't know you needed.
