Copenhagen: The Heart of Scandinavia

The capital city, Copenhagen, effortlessly combines traditional charm with cutting-edge design and gastronomy. Start your exploration in Nyhavn, where the colourful 17th-century waterfront buildings line the canal, creating a picturesque setting perfect for a leisurely stroll. History buffs should not miss visiting Amalienborg Palace, the winter home of the Danish royal family, and the iconic Little Mermaid statue, a tribute to Hans Christian Andersen's beloved tale.

For food enthusiasts, Copenhagen is a must-visit hub. The city's culinary scene boasts numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, including the world-renowned Noma. However, the delights extend beyond fine dining; indulging in a traditional Danish smørrebrød, an open-faced sandwich, is a quintessential local experience.

Aarhus: Denmark’s Cultural Capital

Aarhus, located on the eastern coast of the Jutland Peninsula, is often referred to as Denmark's cultural capital. The city is home to the ARoS Art Museum, known for its mesmerizing rainbow panorama offering expansive views of Aarhus. In the Old Town, Den Gamle By, visitors can wander through history, with open-air exhibits depicting life in Denmark across the centuries.

Aarhus is also a culinary hotspot, showcasing innovative Nordic cuisine alongside traditional Danish dishes. Be sure to explore the food markets and vibrant eateries that promise to tantalize your taste buds.

Odense: A Journey Through Fairytales

In Odense, the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen, every visitor is invited to step into a world of fairy tales. The city offers a rich tapestry of experiences, including the enchanting Hans Christian Andersen Museum. This interactive space brings the author's stories to life and celebrates his enduring legacy.

Odense is also marked by its sprawling green spaces and bike-friendly paths, encouraging visitors to explore its charming mix of old-world and contemporary Danish architecture at a relaxed pace.

Roskilde: A Glimpse into the Past

Venture into Roskilde for a captivating exploration of Denmark's Viking heritage. The Viking Ship Museum, located by the Fjord, presents an impressive collection of reconstructed Viking vessels and engaging exhibits that transport you back to the time of the Norse explorers.

Each summer, Roskilde transforms into a vibrant hub of music and culture during the Roskilde Festival, one of the largest music festivals in Europe. This event attracts artists and visitors worldwide, making it an energetic highlight of the Danish summer.

Skagen: Where Two Seas Meet

At the northern tip of Denmark lies Skagen, a picturesque town famed for its natural beauty and unique position where the North Sea and the Baltic Sea converge. Skagen's light has long been an inspiration for artists, resulting in a thriving local art scene best appreciated at the Skagen Museum, which showcases works from the renowned Skagen Painters.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the shifting sand dunes of Råbjerg Mile and the idyllic views from the picturesque Grenen beach, where you can stand with a foot in each sea.

Bornholm: A Baltic Island Retreat

Late May through early September, with June and early July being the sweet spot. Warm but comfortable temperatures, long daylight hours in June (sun sets around 10 PM) and lower chance of gray, drizzly weather compared to the rest of the year

Denmark is extremely bike friendly - and that affects how you get around. Bikes have the right of way in many places. Traffic rules are strict - jaywalking or ignoring bike lanes can get you in trouble or at least surprised by local reactions

We recently traveled to Portugal and had the most wonderful experience. As our first venture overseas, we decided to search online for travel assistance. We happened across Goway Travel and are so glad we did! Michael Keon, our Destination Specialist, is extremely proficient and knowledgeable in his profession. "Thorough" is an understatement. He assisted every step of the way from the moment we stepped on our flights, transfer arrangements, hotel accommodations, train travel and multiple tours/outings tailored to our specific needs/wish list. He provided unparalleled guidance and support during the planning process and was always available to discuss any questions/concerns. His communications were always prompt and concise. Without a doubt, our best trip to date...there will be no hesitation to contact Mr. Keon for future travels. Joanna Lynn Mays Michael Andrew Mays Joanna Mays

What made this experience great was Cedric Wai. Had a client going to Asia and this is Cedric's wheelhouse since he is from there. Everything was wonderful. Everything went smoothly. The individual tours were wonderful and all the guides were exceptional. A lot of traveling-the flight was very good on Cathay Pacific would highly recommend their airline seats were comfortable and spaced well. Being on an airplane for 16 hours sucks in general, but other than being a little sore from being stuck in one place all was good. Thank you so much for all your help and the trip was wonderful and everything that it should be! Next trip will be much more relaxing, sitting still for a while on a beach somewhere ha ha!Careen Sullivan

My destination specialist, Katie Stephenson was amazing from the onset. Her customer service, communication style and planning skills was so timely and top notch. Our trip was to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia, from Aug 4-22, 2026. The way she planned and booked the trip makes the experience convenient and enjoyable. The flexibility of payment makes the decision faster and attractive. Everything we need to know including contacts were readily available within our travel documents itinerary. Overall, I'll say it's money well spent and a lifetime experience particularly for my kids.Festus

We went on a highly customized comprehensive (though quick tour) of England and a bit of Scotland through Goway. Ingrid Aird did an amazing job of planning and arranging every detail with her deep experience, insight, thoughtfulness and creativity, tuning into the needs of each traveler; and she did so even though our decision to travel was rather spontaneous and last minute! Our family had the best time! We look forward to working with Ingrid and Goway again!Vilja Breiling
