Copenhagen: The Heart of Scandinavia

The capital city, Copenhagen, effortlessly combines traditional charm with cutting-edge design and gastronomy. Start your exploration in Nyhavn, where the colourful 17th-century waterfront buildings line the canal, creating a picturesque setting perfect for a leisurely stroll. History buffs should not miss visiting Amalienborg Palace, the winter home of the Danish royal family, and the iconic Little Mermaid statue, a tribute to Hans Christian Andersen's beloved tale.

For food enthusiasts, Copenhagen is a must-visit hub. The city's culinary scene boasts numerous Michelin-starred restaurants, including the world-renowned Noma. However, the delights extend beyond fine dining; indulging in a traditional Danish smørrebrød, an open-faced sandwich, is a quintessential local experience.

Aarhus: Denmark’s Cultural Capital

Aarhus, located on the eastern coast of the Jutland Peninsula, is often referred to as Denmark's cultural capital. The city is home to the ARoS Art Museum, known for its mesmerizing rainbow panorama offering expansive views of Aarhus. Each summer, Roskilde transforms into a vibrant hub of music and culture during the Roskilde Festival, one of the largest music festivals in Europe. This event attracts artists and visitors worldwide, making it an energetic highlight of the Danish summer.

Skagen: Where Two Seas Meet

At the northern tip of Denmark lies Skagen, a picturesque town famed for its natural beauty and unique position where the North Sea and the Baltic Sea converge. Skagen's light has long been an inspiration for artists, resulting in a thriving local art scene best appreciated at the Skagen Museum, which showcases works from the renowned Skagen Painters.

Outdoor enthusiasts will enjoy the shifting sand dunes of Råbjerg Mile and the idyllic views from the picturesque Grenen beach, where you can stand with a foot in each sea.

Late May through early September, with June and early July being the sweet spot. Warm but comfortable temperatures, long daylight hours in June (sun sets around 10 PM) and lower chance of gray, drizzly weather compared to the rest of the year

Denmark is extremely bike friendly - and that affects how you get around. Bikes have the right of way in many places. Traffic rules are strict - jaywalking or ignoring bike lanes can get you in trouble or at least surprised by local reactions

Our 2-week trip to Normandy, Switzerland and Italy after we disembarked from the Queen Mary 2 in Southampton in mid-May was superb. Michael Keon did an amazing job of putting together highlights for us to see and visit with the short time we had. All the train reservations, private and small group tours and transportations were very well coordinated, on time, and usually exceeded our expectations. Drivers were courteous and knowledgeable. Mike did a wonderful job getting everything coordinated, in spite of our almost “last minute” booking. I booked a month-long trip through GOWAY back in 1989 for Australia, New Zealand and Fiji, and they were superb then. So I tried them again, and found the entire organization to be even better. Mike was quick to respond to any questions that came up regarding booksings and times, regardless of the 6-hour time difference. Just superb! Although we had a nasty experience in Milan, GOWAY was very responsive and saw to our requests and our needs. Again, Michael Keon is the person who coordinated our travel. I will ask for Mike when I travel again with GOWAY. I recommend GOWAY highly. PJ Wheeler

The on-site logistics with Condor Travel went very smoothly, and the trip exceeded our expectations overall. They proactively suggested changes to our initial itinerary which were welcomed. I would recommend them and would work with them again in the future.Kate O'Neill

I recently went on an African Safari with my brother-in-law and sister and another couple who I knew. The entire experience was absolutely unbelievable. The complete details were flawlessly coordinated from the transfers to the breathtaking lodges. Our guides Peter showed us Kenya and Maulid Tanzania were very knowledgeable and very sharp eyes for finding the animals. We were able to see the animals up close, learn a lot about the people, birds , vegetation etc. We had several sundowners in the bush really added to a magical experience with beautiful sunsets. I would highly recommend Goway to all my friends, they will not be disappointed. Thank you to Bijal for the excellent African Safari that you put together for us. You were wonderful.Nancy Hay
