Embrace the Serenity of New Zealand's Natural Wonders

New Zealand’s allure lies in its diverse natural landscapes. Imagine pristine lakes, rugged coastlines, and majestic mountains—all accessible during your solo adventure. Start your journey in the North Island with a visit to the geothermal wonders of Rotorua. Here, the earth's energy bubbles just beneath your feet, manifesting in surreal geysers and hot springs. Move north to the Bay of Islands, where 144 islands host idyllic beaches and historical sites that are essential for any New Zealand vacation.

The South Island offers a different charm. Fiordland National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, invites you with its dramatic fiords, carved by glaciers. Embark on a solitary hike through verdant trails and catch the breathtaking views that culminate at the edge of Mitre Peak. The purity and tranquility found here are unmatched, providing a profound connection with nature.

Discover Vibrant Urban Experiences

New Zealand’s cities are alive with culture and creative energy. Auckland, with its iconic Sky Tower, is more than just a gateway to wilderness; it’s a vibrant city offering eclectic cuisine, diverse art galleries, and the chance to sail on the renowned Waitemata Harbour. For a solo trip, Auckland's blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty offers a perfect starting point.

Further south, Wellington charms with its creative vibe. Known as the "Coolest Little Capital," it's a hub of film and coffee culture set against a backdrop of rolling hills and a stunning waterfront. Dive into the world of Weta Workshop, where movie magic comes to life, or stroll along Cuba Street to experience the city's bohemian atmosphere.

Immerse in Maori Culture

New Zealand stands apart with its rich Maori heritage. Solo travellers can gain insights into the Maori way of life through cultural experiences across the country. Attend a traditional Hangi feast while exploring Rotorua, where Maori hospitality is abundant. In the Bay of Plenty, connect with local guides who can provide a deep understanding of Maori traditions, storytelling, and crafts.

For women undertaking solo trips, these cultural encounters are not only enlightening but also empowering, offering a deeper connection with the land and its people. The Maori values of respect and community resonate deeply, creating a welcoming environment for travellers.

Savour New Zealand’s Culinary Delights

No journey here is complete without indulging in New Zealand's culinary offerings. The country's evolving food scene favours fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. Picture yourself enjoying a plate of Bluff oysters in a seaside shack or tasting award-winning wines from the picturesque vineyards of Marlborough.

Urban areas like Wellington and Christchurch boast vibrant food markets and innovative dining experiences. These cities offer everything from hearty traditional Maori dishes to contemporary fusion cuisine, ensuring that your solo dining experiences are as memorable as the landscapes that surround you.

Travel Tips for Solo Adventurers

  • Safety First: New Zealand is considered one of the safest travel destinations worldwide. Nonetheless, it's wise to stay informed about local customs and areas to avoid, particularly when travelling alone.
  • Connectivity: Wi-Fi hotspots are widespread in urban areas, allowing easy access to maps and travel apps. However, in remote locations like Fiordland, it's advisable to download necessary information beforehand.
  • Transportation: New Zealand’s public transportation in cities is efficient, but renting a car provides the flexibility to explore its remote beauty at your own pace.
  • Respect Local Traditions: Engaging with Maori culture requires sensitivity and respect. Participate in guided tours to understand the respectful ways to interact with cultural sites.

Solo travelling through New Zealand is a quintessential exploration of natural beauty and cultural richness. Whether seeking solitude in its vast landscapes or engaging with its vibrant communities, let your journey to New Zealand be one of discovery and renewal. Each corner of this remarkable country offers a new adventure, culminating in experiences that solo travellers will carry with them long after their journey has ended.

As a travel agent, it was very easy to work with Goway. They were very responsive, especially Osvaldo Gonzalez, even when the client wanted to make in-destination changes a day or two prior. My clients absolutely enjoyed everything about their trip to Costa Rica - they specifically mentioned that all the drivers and guides they had were excellent, friendly, and knowledgeable. I would not hesitate to use Goway again for a custom trip to Costa Rica. Shawna Woods Roy

We, three couples, all enjoyed our time in Peru, despite the small amount of time we had, and the fact one person had injury while on the cruise prior to arriving in Lima. We did want to experience Machu Picchu without spending as many days as others usually do, since we had been traveling prior to that already. Kajal at Goway was able to tailor a well packed three-day private tour for our small group of six. Every detail, from the moment we got off the cruise ship, to Cusco, to Machu Picchu, and back to Lima airport hotel, was well taken care of. Kajal was very efficient in helping with the requested itinerary, and in staying on desired budget, as well answered all questions in timely fashion. We were able to accomplish what we were not sure if possible, all thanks to Kajal at Goway. Our experience in Peru was very positive. We felt the tours organized by Goway had enabled us to have great and impressive exposure to Peruvian culture and important historical sights - all 31 hours in 3 days!!! Condor Travel in Peru took care of us every step of the way. Every person we came across was very courteous, willing, and helpful. Help was always there and questions answered quickly via Whatsapp. All in all a great and positive experience we would highly recommend.KM

I want to personally thank my Travel Agent Alice Teramoto who organized two spectacular trips for me! One to Australia and most recently Vietnam and Cambodia. She nailed it! I can’t express my gratitude enough! Both trips were flawless and hassle free! Every experience exceeded my expectations! I spent my 60th Birthday in Vietnam on the Lunar New Year which was a complete thrill! I highly recommend Alice and will definitely book with her again soon! Thanks so much Alice ♥️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Avril

Mary G. was an absolute pleasure to work with. I partner with Goway often for Europe and typically have my go to rep, so stepping outside of that for a New Zealand itinerary had me a little unsure at first. That hesitation quickly disappeared. Mary stepped in with confidence, handled all of my moving pieces with ease, and truly understood the level of detail I needed to take care of my clients. She delivered a beautifully curated itinerary that exceeded expectations, and most importantly, my clients had an incredible experience in New Zealand. I’m so grateful to have her as a resource and look forward to working together again.Nichole Pierce

Joanna was amazing!!! She was able to set up a ten day trip for me in Sydney in a matter of a couple of weeks. All accommodation and tours were amazing and the 24 hour help center was great and where able to call up the tour company and have them come and still pick be up when I had a mixup with the reservation. Would definitely recommend Goway to any friends and family and will definitely be using them again.Erica Wolff

I cannot sing Erin’s praises enough! She planned an action-packed two-week New Zealand itinerary that hit every single stop on our bucket list. Every experience was truly first-class and luxurious. While I found myself being price-conscious initially, once I saw the incredible quality of the experiences she curated, I knew it was going to be the trip of a lifetime. A huge thank you to Erin and Go Way Travel for making my 50th birthday so epic. We’ll definitely be reaching out for our next big adventure!Michelle

I booked this trip to Adelaide with Goway, after using them before when we explored the 'big' sites of Australia. This time, we went to Adelaide to go to three of the top wine growing areas for wine tastings. We were a small group of 4 people. It was made better as the vendor used Small Batch Wine Tours for all of our excursions. They were fantastic making us the only travelers on these tours. Matthew, the owner, even adjusted our wineries on the last day to go to different place. This place totally marked off everything we were looking for in wine. Ended up buying a couple of bottles. Between Goway setting it up and Small Batch Wine Tours running the actual tours we had a beautiful and seamless trip. not applicable
