Initially constructed in the early 1600s by the Japanese community, the covered bridge crosses a small canal on the west side of the old town, and features a small Buddhist shrine as well as a statue of a monkey and a dog on opposing sides. Although having gone through renovation over the centuries, the bridge remains a symbol of Hoi An.
