Take a trip to Kasane on your Botswana Vacation
Serving as the administrative centre of the Chobe District, Kasane is located in the far north-eastern corner of Botswana. It is on the south bank of the Chobe River and is near Africa’s “Four Corners” where four countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe almost meet.on Botswana safaris
On travel to Botswana, Kasane is quite small and can easily be walked around. Considered a tourist hub, the town is often the start or finish destination for visits to Chobe National Park, Victoria Falls at the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe and Namibia’s Caprivi Strip. As well as being a gateway to Botswana safaris, Kasane is known for its Hot Springs. The waters of the natural springs are believed to hold medicinal powers. Kasane is also a popular fishing safari spot as many fish species can be found in the town’s waterways.
One of the most interesting aspects of Kasane is that people often just pass through on route to somewhere else in search of game viewing without realizing the opportunities available in Kasane itself. With no boundary between Kasane and Chobe National Park, wildlife is free to wander around the town. Hippo and elephant sightings are not uncommon while the many dead trees along the Sedudu Valley Road are ideal for leopard spotting on a Botswana safari.

We started planning this trip 6 months prior to our travel date and had a lot of questions regarding this trip. Our Goway Travel Specialist, Karen Larrota, always answered our questions in a timely and complete manner. We traveled to Quito, Ecuador, the Galapagos, The Sacred Valley in Peru, Machu Picchu, and Cusco in Peru. Not only were the destinations and accommodations excellent, but every tour guide and driver were beyond excellent. The entire trip went smoothly every step of the way, which was amazing given the fact that there were numerous flights and hotels included in our package. We found out that the tour company that Goway used, Condor Travel, checked on us with our guide to make sure we were doing OK which we thought was very nice but also amusing as we are fairly fit older adults. Would also like to mention that we did a cruise thru the Galapagos on the Galapagos Legend which was arranged thru Go Galapagos - Kleintouurs. This portion of our tour was also excellent as were the wildlife guides and staff. We continue to discuss how wonderful this trip was with our family and friends and how wonderful this experience was.
